Dr. Bishop Edward Fears, Jr. was Consecrated by Presiding Bishop Thomas K. Bethany, as Frayser Jurisdictional Bishop in the Holiness Outreach Ministries Association on October 14, 2006. At the age of 53, Bishop Fears is one of the youngest Bishops in HOMA.
Dr. Bishop Fears joined Mar's Hill COGIC, Lockport, IL in 1968 under the leadership of Pastor James Curry, Sr.. He accepted Christ as his personal savior and received the Baptism Of The Holy Spirit.
Dr. Bishop Fears joined St. James COGIC, Joliet IL in 1973 under the leadership of Pastor James Hamilton. That following year he united in Holy Matrimony to Evangelist Demetria Dilworth and from this union three daughters were born, Shamaleta, Lashella and Edlotta. Bishop Fears continues faithfully in serving the church in many positions. In 1976 he was called into the ministry and was ordained in 1979 by the late Bishop Louis Henry Ford.
Dr. Bishop Fears served the whole area of Joliet, IL and surrounding cities with revivals, crusades, street meetings, shut-ins, and various nursing homes. He also served as an Associate Pastor under the late Pastor L. T. Hutton, Holy Ghost Deliverance Center, Lockport, IL.
Upon returning to Tennessee in 1996, he continues to serve the Lord and works with various churches. The call to Pastor was made and answered. In 2002 God gave the name, Evangelical Outreach Ministries, Inc. and said church was formed. In 2006 a Higher Calling was made to the Office of Bishop in the Holiness Outreach Ministry Association.
I received my Bachelor of Ministries, Master of Theology, and Doctorate of Theology from International College of Bible Theology Norris City, IL.
The work continues with crusades, revivals, monthly newsletter, chaplain, and nursing home ministry.
Over half of my life have been working in the church and I see no stopping. Demetria and I still have much work to do. I know God is with us.
